Purpose
The manually operated mechanism to move stage scenery is used to vertically movetheatre scenery items, cinema projection screens, sound reflectors, lighting fixtures etc. The overall weight of loading accessories is in proportion to the payload of the mechanism.
In general, manually operated mechanisms are used in low requirement theatres or for ‘masking’ purposes, wherever this is required by the Director.
The most common practice is suspension TAB SYSTEMS that are used for overstate masking.Τabs (Tableau Curtains) are fabric curtains which keep the audience from seeing lighting or scenery placed at the background of the Stage.
Another important use is the manual operation TABS FOR OVERSTAGE MASKING. This is the first masking in the Stage Mouth, and is an indispensable part of the Front Curtain.

Τechnical Description
1 The model TBWD – MANUALLY OPERATED TAB SYSTEM is used for the suspension of fabric curtains masking the ceiling οροφή.
One of the construction principles of this system is the simple and easy movement of its position, as well as the regulation of its individual parts towards all directions.
Manually operated systems pull small loads, and in most cases their accessories are fabrics. They compensate the load with a proportional counterweight tied to the handling rope. The difference between load weight and counterweight is about 5-10 kg
The height of accessories is regulated with a simple vertical movement of the rope, which is fixed with an automatic navy safety key onto the floor of the stage.
The system is accompanied with high quality fireproof fabrics (MOLETON type) with up to ½ folding.
2 The model TBSS -BR MANUALLY OPERATED PROJECTION SCREEN BAR is used for the development of scenery out of foldable screens. The difference here compared to the previous mechanisms is that the system is operated through a closed loop of rope and handling pulley fixed on the floor. Τhe system has also an immobilization brake in the desirable position.
3 The model TBAH – MANUAL OPERATION FIRST MASKING is used for masking in the stage mouth. It differs from the previous ones with regard to its location, bar size and accessories. It comprises a 10-12m bar and a black non-transparent non-pleated fabric or fabric similar to that of the front stage (architectural requirements).
The system is accompanied with high-quality fireproof fabrics (VELVET COTTON type) with up to 1/3 folding (VELO form) or MOLETON-type fabrics with folding ranging from 1/1 (stretched) to 1/2 (blade form).
